Betty Boop with Henry (Paramount, 1935).
One Sheet (27" X 41"). Max and Dave Fleischer began their career in animation shortly after World War I as chief rivals to Walt Disney at Columbia and United Artists. Under the banner of Paramount, they created a number of characters, including Popeye and Betty Boop. Before the Hayes Commission came into power, Betty was the symbol of the flapper era, wearing short skirts with garters showing. After the Hayes Commission, Betty, like the rest of Hollywood, was censored and she began to be drawn with longer skirts! Owning a Betty Boop One Sheet is one of the pinnacles of collecting animation posters. Very few are known to exist, especially in this unrestored Near Mint condition.

Bringing Up Baby (RKO, 1938).
One Sheet (27" X 41"). Following the success of "Sylvia Scarlett" (1936), RKO once again paired Kathryn Hepburn and Cary Grant in this frantic paced screwball comedy directed by Howard Hawks. Considered by many to be the first and best of the screwball comedy genre, this film, with its absurd antics and zany pratfalls, showcased Hepburn and Grant's silver screen magic. This one sheet is in marvelous condition with a few minor fold tears and a small tear with no missing paper on the right border. Very Fine.

The Wolf Man (Universal, 1941).
Title Lobby Card (11" X 14"). "Even a man who is pure at heart, and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright." Movie legend tells us that this was a real gypsy curse used in toto for the screenplay. In actuality, writer Curt Siodmak said he came up with the jingle while writing the original script. A Universal horror classic, "The Wolfman," stars Lon Chaney as the tormented soul who transforms into a vicious killer beast at the hint of a full moon and Claude Raines plays his aristocratic English father. Universal horror Title Cards are extremely rare and this is one of the most highly prized cards in the genre. Very Fine.

Tarzan and His Mate (MGM, 1934).
One Sheet Style A (27" X 41"). This was the second film in the MGM Tarzan series and is considered by most Tarzan enthusiasts to be the best. This film was also the only one in which Jane wore bikini-like attire (and no attire at all during the now famous skinny dipping scene), which raised the eyebrows of women's groups everywhere as well as the heartbeats of young teenage boys. Irving Thalberg, head of production at MGM, insisted on sparing no expense on the Tarzan series with Johnny Weismuller. Thus the first two films cost approximately one million dollars each to produce, an astounding sum during the height of the depression. Fine/Very Fine.

Day the Earth Stood Still (20th Century Fox, 1951).
Half Sheet (22" X 28"). Robert Wise's classic science-fiction epic is still the standard to which all other sci-fi films are compared! In this story, way ahead of it's time, the film explores the issue of what would man do if suddenly confronted by an alien race far superior to our own. Michael Rennie stars as the alien Klaatu who comes to earth with a message. He's accompanied by one of the greatest robots in the history of the cinema, Gort! This beautiful Half Sheet features both Rennie and Gort as they step out of their flying saucer! Folded, Very Fine+.
