    Thieves' Clothes (Universal, 1920). One Sheet (26" X 41.25").
    Ed "Hoot" Gibson came to the movie business by way of the rodeo circuit where he was a champion steer-roper and "All-Around Champion Cowboy." He appeared in a number of short films until his going off to WWI, and afterwards returned to Hollywood where he was signed by Universal Pictures. His first two years of stardom were spent making short subjects and this was one of his first starring roles. This poster sports a wonderful graphic with Gibson astride his horse, towing a car from the era. Sometimes, horses just work better. Professional restoration has addressed fold wear and separation, pinholes, and tears in the borders and interior. The top and bottom borders had an approximately .75" trim, and the poster had paper loss along the left border that extended into the lower left white background. The borders and some of the white background have been airbrushed. Fine- on Linen.
