    Description

The Singing Cowgirl (Grand National, 1938). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Western.
It's come full circle. Little boys wouldn't go see a girl ridin' and ropin' and singin' in 1938. And the "big boys"...the dads...weren't allowed to sneak off and watch Dorothy Page without their wives. Now, however, some of the hottest collectibles in western paper are scenes showing "cowgirls." Page's "singing cowgirl" films might have been doomed from the start without an audience, but they were actually quite good.. Just fast forward in this film to hear and see Dorothy sing "Prairie Boy" while little Billy's parents are being buried, in a beautiful scene shot completely in silhouette against the darkening sky, and try not and reach for a hankie. A getting scarcer top scene card in an excellent grade. Starring Dorothy Page, David O'Brien, Vince Barnett, Warner Richmond, Dorothy Short, Edward Peil, Dix Davis, Stanley Price, Paul Barrett, Lloyd Ingraham. Directed by Samuel Diege. An unused, unrestored lobby card that might have one very minor flaw, such as a slight corner crease. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Near Mint/Mint.
