Description
The Outlaw (RKO, 1951). Very Fine on Linen. First Release German A0 (33.5" X 46.5") Kumpf Artwork.Howard Hughes introduced the world to the stunning Jane Russell with this highly controversial film, sparking an intense outcry Hughes himself helped stoke to gain widespread notoriety and, of course, a massive amount of free publicity. Originally scheduled for release in 1941, the censors at the Hollywood Production Code Administration required Hughes to make major cuts to certain steamy segments, but Hughes adamantly refused, prompting a break with 20th Century Fox and delaying the movie's release until after the war. The sultry art of Russell in most of the picture's advertisements would be considered provocative even today, and memorializes the classic imagery associated with this picture. Heritage is pleased to present for the first time this lovely poster. Professional touchup has been applied to some of the folds. Unaddressed wear includes pinholes and minor tears, a couple of which are in Jane Russell's image.
