    Description

    Rio Grande (Republic, 1950). One Sheet (27" X 40.5").
John Ford's best and last film in the calvary trilogy (along with Fort Apache and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon), Rio Grande teamed the director with John Wayne once again, with The Duke reprising his role as Col. Kirby Yorke. Maureen O'Hara co-stars and went on to make four more films with Wayne. Shot on location in Utah, the film offers spectacular vistas in addition to action-packed battles and a compelling storyline involving the Colonel, his wife, and their young cavalryman son. The borders of this exciting Western one sheet have been carefully airbrushed to address chips in the bottom left corner, a chip in the left border that extends into Claude Jarman's shoulder, a chip in the left border near Wayne's sword hand, a few other small holes and tears in the left border, chips in the top and right border, and pinholes in the borders. Touchup has been applied to chips along the folds and at the center crossfold, tears along the vertical folds, and pinholes in the background. The result is a fine looking poster that will be prized by any John Wayne or Western collector. Fine- on Linen.
