    Description

    High Noon (United Artists, 1952). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Told in real time, this film follows retiring sheriff Will Kane (Gary Cooper), who is about to leave town for his honeymoon with his new Quaker bride, Amy (Grace Kelly). Before leaving, he is confronted with the fact that an outlaw he put in prison will be arriving on the noon train, and is out for revenge. Cooper can't get any help from the fearful townspeople, and walks out into the street to face the outlaws alone. Considered a landmark of the genre, "High Noon" won four Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Cooper. This one sheet has been mounted on linen to stabilize it, but no restoration has been done. It has pinholes, slight cross fold wear and an NSS stamp and writing in marker on the back that has lightly bled through. A very nice piece from this classic Western. Very Fine+ on Linen.
