A Hero on Horseback (Universal, 1927). Title Lobby Card and Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Adapted from a story by Peter B. Kyne, A Hero on Horseback stars Hoot Gibson as a chronic gambler whose addiction has cost him his ranch. Almost destitute, Gibson's fate is reversed when a gold mine he co-owns finally pays out, allowing him to settle his debts. Revenge is Gibson's, as he buys out the local banker who foreclosed on him and sets up his own gambling den so that he and his buddies can wager as they please. Both cards have pinholes and rounded corners, the title card has a two tears in the top border with tape on the verso (one extends into the art), a crease in the top border and a light stain in the bottom border. The scene card has a stain in the bottom border, a bottom left corner bend, a crease down the left side, a tear in the bottom border into the artwork, and a tear in the top border. Fine+.
