    Description

World War II Propaganda (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1944). Army Air Forces Poster (25" X 38") "Fly for Her Liberty and Yours," Howard Chandler Christy Artwork.
Howard Chandler Christy started his career as a combat artist in the Spanish-American War and World War I. Between the two World Wars, he decided he had seen enough battle and spent his time illustrating beauty. The iconic "Christy Girl" defined the modern American woman in the Jazz Age. When World War II broke out, Christy went back to his military roots and created many well-known recruitment and propaganda posters for the different branches of the service. This poster was put on linen for archival purposes. Only our policy of not grading any paper on linen higher than Very Fine+ prevents this grade from being much higher. Very Fine+ on Linen.
