    Description

World War II Propaganda (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1918). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Liberty Bonds Poster (28" X 40") "That Liberty Shall Not Perish from the Earth." War.
The severed head of the Statue of Liberty lies in the rubble next to what remains of her massacred body, as New York City is laid to waste from a hellish inferno in this shocking poster by artist Joseph Pennell. The poster serves as a warning to viewers of a very possible outcome should there be a lack of support from citizens. There were two different versions made of Pennell's design, this one being the more desirable of the designs. A partially restored poster with corrections to edge wear, creases, chips or tears, fold separations, and faint stains. Restoration has addressed some of these issues. All grades are pre-restoration grades.
