    Description

World War II Army Air Force Poster (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1940s). "The Greatest Team in the World!" Poster (25" X 38"). War.
A remarkable recruiting poster for the U.S. Army Air Force. The poster's art is by New York born writer, illustrator and pilot Clayton Knight. Knight served in England's Royal Air Force in 1917 as part of an effort to speed up the training of American pilots; and in 1939 he founded the Clayton Knight Committee, training and recruiting American pilots for the Royal Air Force in Canada. In 1942 he became the official Historian and artist for the U.S. Air Force in Alaska, Aleutians and Central Pacific. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, corner bumps, pinholes, or very minor tears. There is a small stain in the writing just below the AAF logo. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Rolled, Very Fine.
