World War I American Red Cross (American Red Cross, 1918). War Fund Week, American Red Cross Poster (20.5" X 27.5") "Keep This Hand of Mercy at Its Work." War.The Second Red Cross War Fund ran from May 20-27, 1918. The date of May 6-13 which was originally printed on the poster is crossed out, as the date was obviously changed. The gripping graphics by R. G. Morgan show a symbolic arm descending from heaven (with an American Red Cross symbol on the sleeve) protecting innocent women and children on the right from the bombs, artillery, and warfare on the left. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as edge wear with tiny tears with archival tape on the verso, and minor surface crinkles.
