Description
Theatre Photo Lot (Various, 1940s-1970s). Photos (27) (Various Sizes).Vintage, black and white, single and double weight, glossy and matte finish photos. A collection of interior, exterior, and promotional photos of theaters as early as the 1940s to the 1970s. The exterior photos show early theaters like a War Department theater to Loews, RKO, Stanley Warner, and Showcase Cinemas. The interior photos have some crowd shots, a shot of a large blank screen, and from the booth shot of an Army Air Forces theater. The promotional photos are photos of displays, cross promotions, and opening night events. There are photos of displays for The King and I (1956), Bambi (1942), The Star (1952), Hawaii (1966), Camelot (1967), and a fashion cross promotion with Gone with the Wind (R-1974). There are also two group photos from a 1974 showing of The Great Gatsby, a group of nuns in line for Doctor Zhivago (1965), and an on the street promotion for Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963). Some of the notable marquee titles in the photos are Sierra Baron (1958), Krakatoa (1969), Walt Disney's Bon Voyage (1962), Rosemary's Baby (1968), and Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967). Unrestored photos with an overall presentable appearance. They may have tears, creases, pinholes, writing on image area, minor stains, and/or some tape marks.
