    Theatre Photo Lot (1934-1967). Photos (13) (8" X 10") and (1) (7.5" X 9.5"). Heralds (3) (2.75" X 4" - 4" X 9.25"). Miscellaneous
This lot includes vintage, single weight and one linen-backed, glossy photos of theatres from the 1930s and 1940s. Some are vintage, but from duplicate negatives in the 1960s. The photos include theatre audiences, marquees, powder rooms, promotions, and window film publicity layouts. There are marquee photos for Wonder Bar (1934) with a photo for the marquee of Flirtation Walk (1934) pasted on the verso. There is an additional long shot of Wonder Bar showing the entire marquee, mounted on board. There is a vintage photo from a duplicate negative for Thomas A. Edison's "Kinetoscope Parlor" in 1894 in New York City. Nice photo of a long line outside the theatre for the opening of Tarzan and the Leopard Woman (1946), and the theatre front display for The Spiral Staircase (1945). Also included is a nice lot of three original heralds for: Spitfire (1934), Vanishing Legion (1931), and The Crusades (1935). Unrestored photos with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. They may have edge wear with small tears, slight paper loss, minor stains and smudges, some surface indentations where some faces were circled, two mounted back to back, and one mounted on board with surface scratches and small gouges. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Fine+.
