    Description

Escape from Alcatraz by Victor Gadino (Paramount, 1979). Signed Original Graphite Drawing on Illustration Board (15" X 19"). From the collection of David Frangioni, author of Clint Eastwood: ICON & Crash: The World's Greatest Drum Kits.
Clint Eastwood portrayed real-life inmate Frank Morris in this story about the only successful escape from the "escape-proof" maximum security prison Alcatraz. There were several artists who submitted concepts for the poster campaign, among them Victor Gadino. This particular art was not used and the artist eventually chosen would be Birney Lettick. This offering provides a rare look at "what could have been" if Gadino's work had been chosen. Included is a paper cover sheet to protect the drawing. The signed piece itself is very clean with only some slight edge and corner wear, and the smudging, writing, and tape stains in the borders is from the artistic process. Very Fine/Near Mint on Illustration Board.
