Heritage is excited and proud to present this first time offer and exceedingly rare Leader Press one sheet for the Universal horror classic, The Invisible Man. Printed by an independent manufacturer in Oklahoma City, this bold graphic style one sheet has never been offered before at auction. Beloved by audiences at the time of its release, the film's groundbreaking special effects made Claude Rains' titular character truly appear invisible on screen. A strong performance by Rains, the actor was able to convey his character's madness and terror despite being mostly invisible. Approximately 4,000 feet of film received individual handwork treatment of some degree, making nearly 64,000 frames individually retouched to achieve its desired effects. The film's exploration of science gone wrong and the dangers of unchecked ambition resonated with audiences in the 1930s and remains a classic landmark in the history of special effects cinema. It should come as no surprise that paper from this Universal horror masterpiece is in very high demand. Unfortunately, the supply is incredibly limited. Although a handful of regular style A and B one sheets exist, this Other Company one sheet is the only known example of its kind with only very light edge and fold wear with a few fold separations.
