Shoulder Arms (Pathé, R-1922). Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Presented for the first time at Heritage is this superbly restored reissue one sheet featuring Charlie Chaplin in Shoulder Arms. His second film with First National following A Dog's Life, Chaplin stars in one of the first films to approach war from a humorous perspective resulting in popularity among U.S. audiences worn down by global conflict. A smash hit with moviegoers, the film was later reissued with Pathé and Heritage believe this wonderful stone litho featuring the boot camp private to be the only existing example. Expert restoration has addressed fold wear, paper loss within the center crossfold (Chaplin's jawline), border chips, interior tears, and ink bleedthrough within the center image and white background. Parts of the interior image and background have been professionally airbrushed.
