The cartoon strips that appeared every day in the newspaper were the perfect vehicles to create features and serials from as they were already established and had built-in audiences. Tim Tyler was among the most popular strips of the era and Universal Studios quickly secured the rights knowing the adventure, set in Africa, would be a major hit with the kids. This stunning beautiful one sheet for the twelve chapter serial features the 16 year old Frankie Thomas as Tim Tyler. He's preparing a safari to Africa to find his missing father and to expose the master criminal Spider Webb, who has been stealing ivory. This one sheet is the stock poster to advertise the appearance of the serial at the local theatre and is the only full-color poster done for the entire serial as the other chapter sheets were done in duo-tone orange and black. There was one pinhole in each corner and some very slight fold separation that has been touched up, otherwise, this poster was in exceptional condition prior to linen backing. The linen has been trimmed to the edge of the poster. Very Fine+ on Linen.
