    Description

Lure of the Circus (Universal, 1918). Very Good/Fine on Linen. One Sheet (28.5" X 42") Chapter 4 - "The Message on the Cuff."
Silent actor Eddie Polo was originally born Edward W. Wyman or Weimer in Vienna, Austria-Hungary in February, 1875. With his brother, Sam, he was part of a trapeze act called The Flying Cordovas. Beginning in 1913, he appeared in serials and films in the United States and became an action star in Germany in the late 1920s. After his acting career ended in the mid-1940s he went on to work as a makeup artist, a profession others in his family also entered. He was absolutely one of the best stunt men of the entire silent era. Professionally restored, this poster once had fold wear and separations, pinholes, tears into the interior, and some chips and paper loss in the borders and folds. There is also a reattached section of paper loss extending from the upper right border, halfway into the right center horizontal fold, and to the lower right border.
