    Description

Tobor the Great (Republic, 1954). One Sheet (27" X 41"). This was Republic Studios' early attempt at science fiction in a story about scientists trying to develop a robot to use in space travel. This robot is endowed with human emotions, and becomes pals with the creator's grandson. Trouble erupts when evil communist spies try to capture Tobor (that's robot spelled backwards), to make him do their evil bidding. This film has some of the most attractive posters of the 1950s sci-fi genre, and material for this title has always been somewhat scarce. This poster has been linen backed and has had a chip from the lower left corner, border only, replaced. The poster had a piece missing from the centerpoint of the poster which is about 6" X 3" at its widest point which has been amazingly restored. The work is very well done. There was small amount of wear at the other two centerpoints and pinholes in corners. Restoration makes this poster appear very clean. Good/Very Good on Linen.
