Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style B.Already one of the most popular titles among sci-fi collectors, this War of the Worlds poster should be considered a special prize as it is quite possibly the best and most well preserved half sheet for the film Heritage has ever offered. There's an excellent reason why Byron Haskin's picture remained the only film adaptation of H. G. Well's story for upwards of fifty years, namely that there was almost no way to improve upon what had become the hallmark of alien invasion flicks. The sinister visual update on Wells' steampunk invasion machines, Academy Award-winning special effects that left audiences stunned, and skilled use of three strip Technicolor made this a spectacle to behold in theaters and a captivating feature for generations to come. Posters for the film are renowned for their vivid graphics, and the style B half sheet doesn't disappoint with its scene of chaotic destruction, one of the very few US posters to show the Martian war machines. Never folded and showcasing some wonderfully bright colors, the only indications of handling in sight are a few slight creases and very faint border smudges. Otherwise, it is an absolutely stunning presentation piece. This poster will be shipped flat.
