The Quatermass Xperiment (Exclusive, 1956). Italian 4 - Foglio (55" X 78"). From the collection of Wade Williams.
Released in the the U.S. as The Creeping Unknown, this British sci-fi horror bonanza was based on the 1953 BBC television series The Quatermass Experiment and a hit for Hammer Film Productions. Led by Brian Donlevy in the role of Professor Bernard Quatermass, Jack Warner, Richard Wordsworth and Maria Dean round out a fine supporting cast. The story follows three astronauts rocketed into space in a shuttle designed by Quatermaass, which returns to Earth with only one passenger, Victor Carroon (Wordsworth). Carroon is no longer himself, but a mutated alien that has the ability to engulf and obliterate humanity. An interesting side note--actress, cake decorator and former fiancée of Paul McCartney, a young Jane Asher, plays the little girl trying her naive best to befriend a morphing Carroon. The artwork on this stunning 4-foglio is by noted Italian artist Carlantonio Longi. The poster has pinholes in the borders, edge wear, small tears in the background, additional creases, minor foxing, corner bends, fold wear, and cross-fold separation with minor paper loss. From the collection of Wade Williams. Fine+.
