    Description

Star Trek: Voyager, Ocampa Underground City by Syd Dutton (Paramount, 1995). Very Fine-. Original Screen-Used Matte Painting on Board (97" X 48") Episodes 1x01 & 02 "Caretaker."
Making a debut appearance at Heritage is this excellent piece of background art that comes from the brush of the talented Syd Dutton and can be seen in the two pilot episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, "Caretaker." Dutton once again employs his masterful use of perspective and lighting to create an impression of the subterranean civilization's vast scale, one of the artist's greatest fortes. As an added point of interest for those that like to peek behind the curtain of special effects magic, the painting has backlighting holes drilled into a few places in the image to give an added luminosity to the illustration during filming. Impressive in its size and technical artistry, this painting has some scuffs, scratches, and minor surface lifts. There are a few pieces of tape and stickers at the edges, possibly from production, but these are barely noticeable when compared to the grand scale and presentation of the painting. Due to the size/weight of this lot, shipping costs may be higher than usual.
