Description
Robot Monster (Astor Pictures, 1953). Very Good/Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41") 3-D Style. If there was ever a challenger to Plan 9 from Outer Space for the Worst Film Ever Made, it has to be Robot Monster. In fact, only its inspired use of 3-D (which was apparently the only thing the producers spent money on) keeps it from hitting rock bottom. But what decadent fun it is. What can be said about a movie that cost $16,000 to make and its main villain is a man dressed in a gorilla costume and a diving helmet? By combining bad sets, cheap special effects, awful acting, a terrible script and more bloopers than imaginable, this film has become a cult classic. Some restoration has been applied to edge and fold wear, fold separations, pinholes, and tears. Also addressed is chipping in the folds and edges, paper loss in the bottom border, and tape stains. There was a tear that extended from the title into the 3-D text box, as well as a diagonal tear in the right image. Still visible is a moderate cut from the right border into the printing. These posters commonly had a snipe pasted over the 3-D text in the top right, however this poster appears to never have had a snipe. Very Good/Fine on Linen.
