    Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Allied Artists, 1956). Insert (14" X 36"). From the collection of Wade Williams.
    In this quintessential science-fiction epic, The inhabitants of a small-town in America (it could be anywhere, you know) are slowly being taken over by the "pods" from outer space (or are they somehow like communists?). With their minds being controlled, the panic in those unaffected ensues and it only becomes a matter of time until everyone is taken over (the domino theory in action?). The poster for this film has underlying and implied connections to communism- the "Red Scare" that was so prevalent in the 1950s with it's brilliant red background. There is some light smudging around the title and very minor tears along the bottom edge. The top right corner has a tiny chip and there is a slight crease in the bottom left corner. From the collection of Wade Williams. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
