Invaders from Mars (Rank, 1953). Italian 4 - Foglio (55" X 77").Featuring alien abductions and implants long before they became part of UFO lore and told from the viewpoint of a 12 year old boy, the sense of paranoia and awe is quite convincingly portrayed, making this film one of the classics of the science fiction genre from the early 1950s. Only the second copy Heritage has sold, this Italian 4-foglio truly has an "otherworldly" feel. Although graphically very different than its American counterparts, the piece does an excellent job of evoking an eerie sense of impending doom and destruction. It's another winner from highly accomplished artist Renato Fratini, whose other credits include the British From Russia With Love and Upstairs and Downstairs, and the Italian Senso. Touchup has been applied to a few minor signs of handling: a chip in the right border, fold wear, a tear in the left border into the background, pinholes in the top border, and a bleed through from a stamp on the verso near the "N" of the title. Very Fine- on Linen.
