Description

Invaders from Mars (20th Century Fox, 1953). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Production Designer turned Director William Cameron Menzies captained this 50s sci-fi fantasy about a boy who believes his parents have been taken over by alien invaders. This story line, like so many others during the "red scare" era, reflects the nation-wide paranoia of a possible communist invasion. Although expensive in 1953, War of the Worlds, This Island Earth, and Invaders from Mars were filmed in color, a sign of the importance studios assigned to the science-fiction genre. In highly presentable condition, the poster shows signs of light wear including a torn pinhole in the top right, a tear in the top vertical fold and pinpoint cross fold separation. Fine/Very Fine.
