Blade Runner (Warner Brothers, 1982). Printer's Proof Test Print (28" X 41") John Alvin Artwork.
One of only a handful ever made, this test print of John Alvin's famous artwork is certainly a rarity to be coveted by any sci-fi collector. Warner Brothers, in an unusual and somewhat pricey move, produced a few preliminary runs of the illustration by itself without any lettering, intended only for studio usage and never to be seen by the public. Of special note is the amount of image seen at the top and bottom, which appears in few other posters. This gives an enhanced 3-D perspective to the plunging depths of the city, and also shows a rare, complete image of Harrison Ford's portrait. This is especially important, as Alvin's original artwork has long been lost, and no single image shows the entirety of his illustration. Signs of handling for this incredibly scarce item include slight edge wear with small tears, mild creasing, and some unobtrusive stains. There are a couple of spots of surface paper loss in the image, one of which has a slight bit of surface rippling. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
