    Description

2001: A Space Odyssey (MGM, 1968). Rolled, Fine. Double Sided Translucent Resin Cinerama One Sheet (29.5" X 40") Robert McCall Artwork.
For the 2001 completist, this may be one you have never seen and likely to never see again! This very rare 29.5" X 40" poster was presumably made for a roadshow engagement, most likely for a large theater chain that had lighted poster marquees, a very uncommon thing in 1968. Made of a translucent plastic resin, the poster is curled and fragile though partially restored. It had three small splits in the lower left border, and it has a large partially touched up split in the upper left border (extending into the top of the space ship) with two small restored splits just above it. There was a 6 1/2" split in the top border starting in the left edge and extending into the top blank border only. There was a 1" split in the lower right blank border. There was also a 2" split in the upper right border, near the top of the image. There was a 4" split at the bottom of the blue background area and two more 4" splits near the middle of the blue background area. There are a couple of small chips in the upper left border and vey minor bit of paper loss at the lower edge. Get this item of extreme rarity while you can!
