    Description

The Divorcee (MGM, 1930). Folded, Very Fine. One Sheet (27" X 41"). From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Heritage is pleased to present this only known copy of The Divorcee for the first time. Paper for this film is very scarce and we have only offered a handful of formats. MGM star Norma Shearer was tired of the "society lady" or "good girl" roles she was getting. She decided she wanted to break out of that image, and boy, did she ever with this powerful performance, earning her a Best Actress Academy Award. Adapted from Ursula Parrott's 1929 novel Ex-Wife, this Robert Leonard-directed picture also stars Chester Morris and Robert Montgomery. Shearer is positively luminous on this stone litho one sheet. Light touchup has been applied to the folds, a few stains, and pinholes. Other wear includes slight edge wear, as well as a couple of small tears. The majority of the wear is in the periphery of the poster. Sure to be the star of any collection, this exceptional poster displays wonderfully.
