Life in Indochina is dull but simple for rubber plantation overseer Dennis Carson (Clark Gable), until stranded hooker Vantine (Jean Harlow) shows up, followed by Gary Willis (Gene Raymond) and his attractive young wife Barbara (Mary Astor), who quickly locks her sights on Gable. Risqué even by pre-Code standards, this was the second of six pictures to feature the incendiary team of Gable and Harlow. The pair absolutely sizzle on this scandalous half sheet, a format not offered at Heritage in over a decade. Prior to restoration, it once showed mild creases, small tears, chips in the borders. There was a tear into the background to the right, a chip in Gable's hairline, and the borders and white background have been airbrushed. Fine+ on Paper.
