    Description

    Gimme Shelter (20th Century Fox, 1970). Half Subway (29.5" X 45").
The Maysles Brothers turned their powerful lens on the last weeks of The Rolling Stones legendary 1969 American tour. Tina and Ike Turner make memorable appearances, along with Jefferson Airplane and the Flying Burrito Brothers. Unfortunately the tour will always be associated with the disaster at Altamont, when the band's Hells Angels security guards got into an altercation with an armed fan. A young George Lucas was credited as a camera operator at the concert, although none of his footage ended up being used in the final cut of the film. This half subway is an uncommon format for this title, and features the rare "photo montage" style. A Heritage first, the poster is still in great condition. It shows mild edge and fold wear, minor fold separation, creasing near the borders, pinholes in the outer image area, a small chip in the top of the vertical fold, and light toning in the folds. Folded, Very Fine-.
