    Description

Beatles Special Look Magazine Prints by Richard Avedon (NEMS Enterprises, Ltd., 1967). Prints (4) (22.5" X 31" and 21" X 30").
In 1967, at the apex of the "Flower Power" era, Look Magazine commissioned famed photographer Richard Avedon to do a set of individual portraits of the members of the most popular rock and roll group of the day - the Beatles. After appearing in the magazine, Look offered the photos as a set of four prints, offered here in this one lot. These posters, in all their far out colors, can truly be called psychedelic. John Lennon's kaleidoscope eyes, George Harrison as a mystical guru, Paul McCartney with his flowers, and Ringo Starr with the dove of peace, perfectly capture that fleeting moment in history. The Harrison print is on linen, with minor creases, and has been trimmed slightly. The other three prints are unbacked, and show only light handling wear. This is an extraordinary opportunity to own this mind-blowing set! Note These are not the more common British Stern posters nor the Vara Magazine prints. These are the original Look Magazine prints from 1967! Very Fine+
