    Description

The Shadow Strikes (Grand National, 1937). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Fun and packed with mystery, this picture is the first feature film appearance of popular radio and pulp magazine hero The Shadow, starring Rod La Rocque as the mysterious vigilante. Lamont Cranston, a lawyer and investigator by day, dons a disguise at night to find the guilty and cloud their minds to remain hidden, laughing in the darkness. In this feature, The Shadow solves the murder of a wealthy scion, who had numerous enemies including his heirs. Lynn Anders, James Blakeley, and Walter McGrail co-star. Restoration to this eye-catching piece has addressed fold wear, pinholes, creases, and small crossfold chips. The poster has some misfolding at the top horizontal fold that is partially addressed. The borders have been airbrushed and there is post-restoration wrinkling in the upper left corner. The linen has been trimmed to the border, extending very slightly into the edges at the upper right and lower left corners. Fine+ on Linen.
