The Mysterious Club (Eiko Film, 1913). German Three Sheet (43" X 87").This very early German short film is based loosely on Robert Louis Stevenson's series of stories entitled "The Suicide Club," in which two gentlemen discover strange happenings at a secret society that they stumble upon one evening. One of the earliest adaptations of this classic tale, the film's title literally translates to The Mysterious Club, and is directed by and stars Austrian film maker Joseph Delmont. Sold for the first time at Heritage, this very rare German stone litho poster has had professional restoration to address fold wear with chipping and some pinholes in the borders. The poster still shows some mild toning in the folds. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
