Moon Over Miami (20th Century Fox, 1941). Insert (14" X 36").
Pinup artist Alberto Vargas created some of the poster images for this Betty Grable Fox musical, and is often attributed with the sultry artwork that graces this desirable insert. Some, however, believe it to be the work of McClelland Barclay, as he was doing freelance work for Fox around the time this campaign was done. Regardless, the image is a stunner, making this a highly sought after poster. Backed on paper, the insert shows a pinhole in the upper border and upper corners, a bend in the lower right corner, a small crease in the credits, a horizontal crease through the Technicolor box, and very minor color fading. There was a tear extending from the left border into the background that has been touched up, but is beginning to crack. The paper backing is trimmed to the border, but does not go into the poster. Despite these issues, the poster displays very well, and would make an excellent addition to any serious collection. Fine+ on Paper.
