    Description

    Flying Down to Rio (RKO, 1933). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").
    This fantastic title card practically shouts "FUN!" with its high flying aerial imagery and tagline "Romance That Soars On The Wings Of Song." The card was inspired by the 1933 film that starred two relative unknowns (Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire), who light up the screen in a dance number called "The Carioca." Although Delores del Rio and Gene Raymond are the leads, Astaire and Rogers steal the show as they dance, sing, and plan a spectacular daredevil air show including hundreds of gorgeous girls, in order to save their friend's nightclub. A great Pre-Code Hollywood find! Touchup has been applied to the title, a chip in the bottom right, a tear in Astaire's cheek, and small tears and pinholes in the borders. Fine+.
