    Flying Down to Rio (RKO, 1933). Fine/Very Fine on Cardstock. Window Card (14" X 22").
    The plot of this superb RKO musical involves a love triangle between Dolores del Rio, Gene Raymond, and Raul Roulien, but this pales in comparison with the scenes that are most memorable and that make this a classic for the ages involving the dynamic team of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Marking the first pairing of the dancing duo, this film features some spectacular numbers, including their performance of "The Carioca," and an over-the-top performance of dancing ladies on the wings of planes for the title song. The film was a huge hit for the studio, and Rogers and Astaire soon became musical legends. Any posters for this classic pre-Code musical are very scarce and this window card is no exception. Professional conservation has corrected creases, some surface wear, small tears, and a couple of minor corner chips. Also addressed were a few scuffs and scratches, and the imprint area has been airbrushed.
