Delicious (Fox, 1931). Fine/Very Fine on Paper. One Sheet (28.5" X 41.25"). From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Fox knew they had a hit team with Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell with their very first film together, 7th Heaven in 1927, and turned the couple into America's sweethearts by co-starring them in eleven more films. In this comedy musical, Gaynor plays a Scottish immigrant who is waiting for her paperwork to be approved so she can remain in the U.S. Fellow tenement neighbors keep her spirits up with songs from George and Ira Gershwin. This was the first film the Gershwins specifically wrote original music for the soundtrack. Farrell stars as a wealthy suitor who saves the day by proposing marriage. Heritage has the pleasure of offering this stone litho one sheet for the first time. Very light touchup has been applied to the center crossfold. Signs of handling include slight fold wear, minor fold separations, mild creases, and some tears in the borders. Also apparent are faint stains and smudges, a bit of subtle writing bleedthrough in the right border, as well as a few chips, a couple of which have splices.
