A Star is Born (Warner Brothers, 1977). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). Husband and wife writers John Gregory Dunne and Joan Didion updated the classic Hollywood cautionary tale for the 1970s music industry -- meaning more sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll (a liberal use of the term). Rocker Kris Kristofferson plays mentor to Barbra Streisand, only to see her outshine him on stage. Of course, who wouldn't be upstaged by that perm? This lobby card set shows no discernible flaws, unless you want to count some of those outfits (nothing but a leather vest, Kristofferson?) as a blemish on the good taste of humanity. Mint.
