DescriptionWorld War I Propaganda (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1917). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Recruitment Poster (28.25" X 39.5") "Active Service, Land, Sea, Air," Sidney Reisenberg Artwork.
With America's entry into World War I, all the branches of the military geared up quickly to meet the demands of the American Expeditionary Forces under General John J. Pershing. Artist Sidney Reisenberg emphasizes the pride and sharpness of the Marines in this appeal to recruits. Professionally restored, this poster looks wonderful after corrections to small tears, a couple of minor holes in the upper left, and slight chipping along parts of the left edge. The borders and white background have been airbrushed.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
