DescriptionWorld War I Propaganda (State and National Councils of Defense, 1917). Fine on Linen. Poster (30" X 45.75") "Woman Your Country Needs You!"
In a domestic call to action, Columbia urges the women of the US to serve their country in whatever way they could to support their men overseas. Many women took up positions on local charities, others made their own trek to the front as part of the American Red Cross, and some actually joined the Navy to serve as Yeomen. A Heritage first, this poster has been professionally restored to address edge wear, tears from the top and bottom borders into the image area, border chips, and creasing at the bottom. Some of these issues may still be visible. The borders have been airbrushed and there is some color enhancement in the upper background. Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
