World War I Propaganda (Parliamentary Recruiting Committee, 1915). Rolled, Fine+. Trimmed British Poster (19" X 27.5") Lionel Edwards Artwork, "At the Front!"
With his talent apparent at a very young age, Lionel Edwards made a career out of combining two of the things he loved most: painting and horses. At the outbreak of WWI, Edwards volunteered his services to the British Army as both a propaganda artist as well as a trainer of military steeds as a Remount Purchasing Officer. This first-time offering from Heritage once belonged to the collection of the famous Colonel E. H. McCrahon, known would wide for his expansive hoard of WWI posters, and is signed with his his initials on the verso. Indications of handling include light edge wear, soft creases, and a few minor tears. The borders have been trimmed at the edges by 0.5" horizontally and 2.5" vertically, however this does not affect Edwards' beautiful imagery or the stirring caption. Rolled, Fine+.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
