    Description

World War I Propaganda by James Montgomery Flagg (Leslie-Judge Co., 1917). Fine- on Chartex. Trimmed Recruitment Poster (29" X 39.75") "I Want You for the U.S. Army." War.
Dubbed "The Most Famous Poster in the World" by its creator, James Montgomery Flagg, this poster grew into a legendary embodiment of Uncle Sam that has been, and will continue to be, endlessly honored, parodied, and criticized for generations. A partially restored stone litho poster with an overall very presentable appearance. It may have edge wear, slight creasing, soft surface rippling, moderate tears, minor paper loss, unobtrusive stains and smudges, and/or some color fading. Amateur touchup has been applied to some of these issues. The top and side borders have been trimmed to the red printing. The poster is separating from the chartex in some places. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades. Fine- on Chartex.
