    World War I Propaganda by James Montgomery Flagg (c. 1918). Recruitment Poster (27" X 38") "Be a U.S. Marine."
Artist James Montgomery Flagg is credited with the creation of some of the most widely recognizable recruitment posters, including the iconic "Uncle Sam Wants YOU!" This powerful and patriotic poster is just as inspirational, looking fantastic after corrections to tears and chipping in the borders, with some paper loss in the upper right corner into the the top of the red stripe. There is also touchup to a few minor tears in the interior, and the borders have been airbrushed. The poster shows some unaddressed color fading. Fine+ on Linen.

    Estimate: $400 - $800.
