    Description

Who Pays? (Pathé, 1915). Three Sheet (40" X 78") Chapter 9 -- "For the Commonwealth."
A twelve chapter series of three reel dramas, Who Pays? cast Ruth Roland and Henry King in a new role in a string of self-contained installments, each a separate story related by a single theme: social justice. These thought-provoking shorts provide modern viewers a look at the contentious class warfare of the early 1900s, and gave a voice to thousands of disenfranchised citizens living and working in untenable conditions. A Heritage first, this stone litho three sheet shows edge and fold wear, fold separations and splits, creasing, and surface rippling. There are small chips and tears, as well as stains and smudging in the borders. This poster has been backed on kraft paper, and also has a crease along the right border from where it was folded over, a snipe under the distributor box, and there are grommets in the corners. Fine on Kraft Paper.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
