    Description

    White Eagle (Columbia, 1932). One Sheet (27" X 41").
A long time cowboy star in both sound and silent films, Buck Jones plays White Eagle, a Native American rider for the Pony Express. Trouble brews when a gang, led by Robert Ellis and henchman Ward Bond, disguise themselves as raiding Indians to steal both mail and horses from the Postal Service. Jones vows to get to the bottom of the matter before war breaks out between the Natives and the white settlers. Of course, in keeping with the morals of the 1930s, Jones finds out along the way that he is really a white orphan adopted by the kindhearted tribe. Columbia would later remake this feature film into very popular 1941 serial, also starring Jones, which would re-establish his acting career. An eye-catching piece and a first time offer at Heritage, this stone litho illustration has undergone restoration for fold wear and some tape stains in the background and folds. There are tears from the borders into the interior, with two larger tears in the bottom left background, one of which extends through Jones' credit. There is touchup along the borders. Fine+ on Linen.
