    Description

West is Best (Universal, 1920). One Sheet (27.75" X 41").
Hoot Gibson and Josephine Hill, both under contract to Universal Pictures, made a number of shorts for the film studio together. This film marked an interesting stage of the Western. It came at a time in America when the country was shifting away from it's Western and cowboy days and entering the modern age. This is easily seen on this poster by the wardrobe of the players. A great "transitional Western," this poster has had professional restoration to address edge and fold wear, some light vertical creases, and a few tears into the interior. There was an ink censorship stamp in the upper right of the title box. The poster had a .25" trim along the left and upper borders, as well as some paper loss in the upper right border. The area in the right of the white background and the borders have been airbrushed. Fine on Linen.
