    Description

The Wilderness Trail (Fox, 1919). One Sheet (28" X 41.5").
This tale of the Northwest Territories, with Tom Mix as the commissioner of the Hudson Bay Company, was shot in snowy Flagstaff, Arizona. The cast and crew took over the Commercial Hotel in Flagstaff, and soon a sign went up--"Mix House. Tom Mix, Manager. All complaints must be made in person to Mr. Mix. In the back yard at 15 paces. (Leave name of next of kin)." Co-star Colleen Moore, in only her tenth film, had a huge crush on Mix. "Tom was a tall, handsome man. He had strong jaw lines...and brown eyes so dark they were almost black. In my love scenes with him I nearly swooned away." Exceptional restoration has addressed tears within the borders and interior, including Mix and Moore's images. There has also been restored sections of paper loss in the borders and outer image area, some scattered smaller chips, and inside the poster's interior along the left side of the title and image area. The beautiful illustration of Mix and Moore is almost completely intact with only a few smaller chips in their bodies. This is the first time Heritage has offered any paper on this title and we've never seen this poster before. Very Good on Linen.
