A pivotal work in the Western genre, The Westerner is distinguished by its morally complex narrative and departure from conventional portrayals of heroism. Restoration has addressed parts of the edge and fold wear, creases, pinholes, fold/crossfold separation, chips, small tears, and misfolds. Many of these flaws, as well as toning, remain relatively visible.
