    The Texan (Fox, 1920). Folded, Fine+. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Offered at Heritage for the first time, this stone litho one sheet comes from one of Tom Mix's many classic cowboy adventures from the height of his popularity in the 1920s. Having graduated from short subject Westerns in the late 1910s, Mix had become the reigning star of Old West feature films, known especially for his showmanship, easy to follow storylines, and personal stunt work. Posters from Mix's early career, especially from his first few feature-length pictures such as this one, are some of the rarest in the hobby and are among the most desirable posters for true Western collectors. This one sheet displays such signs of age as some edge and fold wear, fold separations, moderate tears, and dust shadows. There are small chips and slivers of paper loss in the edges and folds, unobtrusive stains, as well as some soft surface rippling. Other issues visible include a faint horizontal toning pattern, light ink transfer in the upper left background, and mild color fading. The poster has a reattached chip at the top braced with paper tape on the verso, as well as several pieces and strips of archival tape on the verso bracing tears and fold separations.
